Our practices:
Ananda Hattingh Biokineticists in Benoni is a well-established practice with a fully equipped training area, gym and wheelchair friendly environment. The practice opened its doors on this premises in June of 2003 and has bloomed ever since.
Ananda Hattingh Biokineticists in Kempton at Hoërskool Kempton Park is Benoni's smaller sister practice that does all the same rehabilitation as in Benoni and more. Here we focus more on sport specifics as we have an isokinetic Biodex machine for testing.
Having several biokineticists on board has a further benefit of gaining input from various angles, since the Bio's studied at different Universities.
We make a point of staying relevant and up-to-date by having weekly meetings, discussing the latest advances in best practice exercise prescription, trends and exercise technology.
Some specifics:
-
Air purifiers are constantly running in the training and waiting areas
-
We make use of "Kneepals" to soften the load on knee joints for prescribed exercises where patients have to support on their knees
-
Carry-around lumbar cushions/supports are being used on various pieces of equipment to ensure optimal spinal support
-
The training area is kept at a cool temperature during hot summer months and a warmer, comfortable training temperature during cold winter months
-
We use vibration therapy equipment to stimulate and maintain blood circulation for diabetic patients - especially in their feet and lower legs
-
Vibration therapy is also effectively applied in the treatment of osteoporosis
-
ElectroMyography and Biofeedback equipment is used for testing and training to ensure proper retraining of muscle sequences
